Join the thriving and dynamic United Living Infrastructure Services team in Washington! As a rapidly growing business, we are excited to welcome a new Water Service & Mains Laying Teams Operative to contribute to our success. Purpose:
To be responsible for the installation of mains and services to required standards.
Responsibilities:
* Maintain own and others' health and safety.
* Carry out safety checks and inspections to vehicles, plant, equipment and sites as instructed.
* Ensure that work is undertaken with due regard to the environment: prevent contamination to water supplies and water courses; maintain site cleanliness; prevent spills; minimise disturbance to members of the public; avoid damage to trees; dispose of waste only as authorised.
* Excavate holes using safe digging methods to avoid damage to underground utility apparatus.
* Manhandle materials, plant and equipment.
* Install pipes and fittings to the appropriate standards.
* Drive Company vehicles with due regard to the Road Traffic Act and other road users for authorised business purposes.
* Operate mobile plant for authorised business purposes.
* Maintain site, vehicle, plant and equipment tidiness and security.
* Install and maintain road works to ‘Chapter 8’ standard.
* Assist members of the public, clients’ representatives and other officials in relation to Company business.
* Maintain safety, environmental and quality records.
* Report any accidents, near misses, faults, damages or defects using appropriate documentation.
* Undertake any other reasonable instructions given by management or supervision.
Qualifications
* NRSWA (Units 1-3 minimum).
* CSCS card.
* Cat & Genny.
* 360 operators ticket.
