Role Summary:
This role is in a new and exciting area of our business, which is responsible for taking our new SPS (Sustainable Power Supply) to market and growing sales from infancy in new sales verticals.
This new product is called the Salt-E Dog, which is a sodium-based battery that replaces traditional diesel generators and Lithium Iron Phosphate batteries that are used in remote power situations. Salt-E-Dog reduces carbon emissions, noise and improves safety for its users. This role is a business development (BD) role, calling on cold customers who may not have heard of Videndum or Anton/Bauer and may not be in our traditional Broadcast/Cine/Production industries.
The person in this role will therefore be expected to use their BD experience to grow sales opportunities with various customers to begin a reliable pipeline of sales. Combining BD ability and experience with managing a team, this role will evaluate market trends to determine the direction of the business for the Anton/Bauer SPS (Sustainable Power Supply) product line within the EMEA region.
The incumbent will be responsible for building strong relationships with key stakeholders within key accounts and key market influencers within their defined customer base and/or territory. Over time, it is expected that other SPS products will join the Salt E Dog ‘pack’, so the role is also responsible for the overall EMEA regional Sales targets and P/L.
Main Responsibilities and Tasks:
* The primary function is to ensure the new revenue growth of the Anton/Bauer SPS products within the defined customer base and/or territory and to manage the technical sales team that will be hired and developed to grow this new business
* To develop and execute the Regional/Territory sales plans and strategy for the Anton/Bauer SPS products, identifying, and qualifying sales opportunities, and ensuring that these opportunities are developed through the sales pipeline to closure
* Provide monthly, quarterly and annual forecasting for the region/territory
* Working with key stakeholders, the Business Development Manager will create and execute the agreed go-to-market sales initiatives, interfacing directly with internal departments, external customers, and channel partners alike
* The BDM is required to develop an understanding of regional customer requirements for the Anton/Bauer SPS product line, providing customer input to product management and the design engineering team on potential limitations and suggested product improvements to ensure that the Anton/Bauer products remain competitive in the market
* Establish strong, positive, professional relationships at all levels of the targeted strategic accounts and specifically with management responsible for strategic investment planning.
* Liaise with Product Management, Engineering and Marketing on Product Roadmap, product intelligence, market drivers, new product ideas
* Liaise with Marketing to formulate and help deliver an agreed promotional plan
* Attend and perform high level product demonstrations together with the technical sales team to assist in convincing end users on the products’ USP’s

Knowledge and Skills:
Essential:
* Extensive experience in Technical Sales/Business Development ideally within the broadcast, film and cinema or high-technology industry
* Demonstrable success in managing people and/or teams in a relevant industry
* Highly motivational leadership style. Able to be a role model and/or team player
* Strong commercial background with professional approach
* Technically minded and capable with ability to absorb technical aspects, information and arguments quickly.
* Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
* Strong self-motivator and natural leader, able to drive towards a target and bring others with them
* Able to work under pressure and manage time and resources effectively
* Strong IT skills including PowerPoint, Word, Excel and CRM systems
* Ability to use own initiative to address problems and present solutions
* Strong attention to detail
* An understanding of own limitations with regards to safety of self and others, especially in connection with maintenance duties
