This in turn will deliver; improved performance in delivering value from land, implementable planning consents and sustainable communities for our customers through improved development design. Primary ResponsibilitiesBe a passionate and informed advocate of good quality place making and it’s benefits to TW and our customersDevelop strong relationships with the TW design communityAssist the Head of Urban Design to support Business units in the preparation of development designs with a focus on placemaking quality, planning policy compliance and delivery of TW business objectives. Focus on, but not limited to high profile and high risk projectsAssist in the delivery of the internal Design Academy and the running of regional design workshops to improve knowledge and share best practiceSupport the planning and delivery of the bi-annual Design Lead Conference and the annual Design CompetitionSupport internal regional design reviews to improve the quality of our developmentsWorking with the Head of Urban Design to implement new standard processes and practices within TWPreparing best practice notes and guidance and embed best practiceLiaise with external designers to ensure alignment with TW practice and policyLiaise with the external urban design community to represent TW and to bring learning back into TWWork with other Head Office functions with regard to issues that cross between respective responsibilities, particularly Land and Planning and TechnicalExperience, Qualifications, Technical RequirementsDegree in Urban Design /Architecture or other appropriate qualification or membership of appropriate professional body.An understanding of current thinking and government policy in place making and its implications in planning and development Experience and understanding of the business and technical requirements of volume house buildingTrack record of working with or in design consultancy, preparing high quality designsAbility to communicate graphically both with free hand drawing and the appropriate design software.What we offer at Taylor WimpeyAt Taylor Wimpey, we are committed to enabling you to make a home with us.
