Main duties of the job
This post is offered on a full time, permanent basis, working 37.5 hours per week (part time hours would be considered). Our core working hours are 8/8.30am - 4/4.30pm.
Please note, the successful candidate will be an essential car user, therefore candidates must have a full driving licence and access to a vehicle.

The Senior Occupational Therapist will bring a solution focused, compassionate approach, working independently and as a part of our committed team, to support and build relationships with patients, families and multidisciplinary teams.

* Experience of working with palliative care, oncology, neurology, community or care of the elderly patients
* Sound knowledge and application of Occupational Therapy assessments and interventions
* To carry out independent and joint assessments of allocated patients and their families
* To provide high standards of holistic and individualised patient care, embracing the hospice's vision and values
Person Specification
Experience
* Minimum of 2 years post registration experience
* Experience of working with palliative care, oncology, neurology, community or care of the elderly patients
* Sound knowledge and application of Occupational Therapy assessments and interventionsAbility to plan, implement and evaluate care
* Specialist palliative care experience
* Formal presentation and teaching skills
* Team leadership experience
Qualifications
* Degree or diploma in Occupational Therapy
* State Registered with the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC)
* Evidence of recent post registration education
* Member of Royal College of Occupational Therapy (RCOT)
* Current driving licence and use of a car
