Working alongside the UK Ministry of Defence, our teams deliver resilient infrastructure, innovative technical solutions, and mission-critical capabilities that support national operations.
We are seeking a highly skilled Infrastructure Engineer to join my clients delivery team at MoD Corsham. This is a broad technical role covering server, storage, networking, security, and data centre environments.
The role requires expertise across Microsoft Windows Server environments, virtualisation platforms, networking equipment, backup and recovery tools, monitoring solutions and endpoint security — along with a working knowledge of Linux for occasional backend system tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage and maintain Windows Server 2019 domain environments, including Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP.
* Administer, configure, and troubleshoot Cisco Firepower, Juniper SRX, and Dell S Series network switches.
* Support and maintain Broadcom VMware vSAN environments for performance and availability.

* Administer Cisco ISE for secure network access control.
* Manage Trellix (McAfee) endpoint protection solutions.
* Support Dell Thin Client environments.
* Provide operational support for Data Centre infrastructure.
* Work with Linux systems on an occasional basis, particularly when supporting backend operations of systems such as VMware, where running and tailoring Linux scripts may be required. While vendor support often provides initial scripts or guidance, the ability to adapt these requires basic Linux knowledge.
* Carry out upgrades, patching, and preventative maintenance.
* Create and maintain detailed technical documentation.
* Collaborate with project teams to deliver infrastructure solutions and enhancements.

* Strong experience in Windows Server 2019 administration and domain management.

* Scripting skills with PowerShell.
* Load balancing administration using Kemp appliances.
* Monitoring infrastructure using SolarWinds.
* Access control with Cisco ISE.
* Endpoint security using Trellix.
* Experience with thin client solutions (preferably Dell).
