Locum Paralegal - Debt Recovery
Duration: 6 months Pay Rate: £18.61-£20.86 per hour Location: Birmingham (Hybrid - 1 day per week in the office)
About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Locum Paralegal to join a busy local authority legal team, with a primary focus on debt recovery. This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate with strong litigation or debt recovery experience who is looking to expand their skills within the public sector.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage a varied caseload of debt recovery matters, including pre-action work and progression of claims.
* Draft and prepare legal documents, including correspondence, statements of case, witness statements and court forms.
* Liaise with internal departments, external agencies, debtors, and legal representatives.
* Assist with case preparation and ensure deadlines are met in line with local authority procedures.
* Provide general legal support to the wider team as required.
About You
* Previous experience in debt recovery, civil litigation or a similar area is essential.
* Experience working within a local authority or public sector environment is desirable but not required.
* Strong organisational and case management skills.
* Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a collaborative team.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Working Arrangements
