They are recruiting for a Site Lead Pharmacist / Pharmacy Manager to lead the pharmacy operations at the Southampton Hospital as part of expanding their Pharmacy services.

Site Lead Pharmacist / Pharmacy Manager
Responsibilities
* Lead an onsite, permanent Pharmacy team of 6 (Clinical Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians and a Pharmacy Assistant); coordinate rotas, staffing levels and monitor delivery of a patient-focused pharmacy service in accordance with current legislation to ensure safe staffing levels.
* Support the Senior Site Management and National Director of Pharmacy in setting strategic direction and developing infrastructure for high-quality, patient-focused clinical pharmacy services at the site and affiliated departments.
* Establish and maintain robust clinical governance arrangements (risk management, guidelines, policies, audits) for medicines management within the site and affiliated departments.
* Manage day-to-day pharmacy services, ensure ward and dispensary cover is efficient, and that reporting staff understand their roles and responsibilities and perform effectively.
* Act as role model as the site’s most senior pharmacist; provide advice and support to consultants, other clinicians and patients to ensure safe, appropriate and cost-effective use of medicines.
* Collaborate multidisciplinary to deliver efficient, high-quality, patient-focused healthcare services.
What you will bring to the role
* GPhC registration as a Pharmacist (current).
* Master’s degree in Pharmacy or equivalent.
* Postgraduate qualification in clinical pharmacy or equivalent.
* Experience at a Pharmacy Manager, Site Lead Pharmacist, or similar management level, ideally in Hospital Pharmacy or Secondary Care senior pharmacist roles. Community Pharmacy management experience may be considered.
* Independent prescribing qualification is advantageous or willing to work towards qualification.
* Extensive senior-level pharmacy management experience within clinical pharmacy services.
* Strong people management skills with experience in supervision, training, appraisal, and workforce development.
* Experience in managing pharmacy services including medicines management, service development, KPI reporting and assurance.
