About Our School
North Lakes Children's Services is a well-established local provider of residential care and education for boys aged 7-18. We improve the resilience, self-esteem and abilities of all the young people we work with.
Our school is now an Accredited SILVER Award Attachment and Trauma Sensitive School, and we gained our first Outstanding Ofsted inspection in 2014.
As a teacher, you will be enhancing the learning of pupils with a wide range of special educational and learning needs. You will support teaching staff in enabling pupils to gain independence, participate fully in the curriculum and school life. This role is based at Herdley Bank School.
Role Responsibilities
* Responsible for planning and delivering high-quality lessons within the national curriculum, meeting the complex SEMH needs of pupils.
* Supporting the class team in facilitating learning opportunities and promoting positive behaviours.
* Reporting on pupils' progress and concerns, liaising with staff to meet pupils' needs.
* Supervising pupils during non-classroom time, including extracurricular activities and trips.
* Building positive relationships with pupils to promote interaction and positive learning outcomes.
Requirements
* Qualified teacher status (QTS).
* Degree-level education or equivalent.
* Previous successful teaching experience.
* Experience working with pupils with SEMH in an educational setting.
* Experience in behaviour management techniques.
* Committed to professional development and learning.
* Willing to undergo an Enhanced DBS check prior to starting.
