REED Engineering & Manufacturing are working with a leading Engineering & Manufacturing company with worldwide customer base.
Primary Purpose:
Organise and oversee the manufacturing of goods and associates within the value stream, by
negotiating, planning and managing all the activities within this area including Health and Safety.
Responsible for the smooth running of all production lines and the quality of output and to meet
customer demand.
Key Responsibilities:
* To accelerate the flow of work safely and strategically.
* To prioritise work, manage relationships and coordinate work between different teams
and locations throughout the value stream.
* To monitor inventory including scrap.
* To instigate and control continuous improvement activity.
* Responsibility for safety, performance and wellbeing of the value stream and its
employees.
* Responsibility for 5S/TPM.
* Adhere to AS9000 (Aerospace standards) To deliver quality product.
* Liaise with Operations Manager to formulate objectives and understand requirements.
* Supervise and evaluate performance of production personnel.
* Monitor materials issued to works order liaising with purchasing to ensure MRP is
updated
* Communicate with all aspects of the business for the smooth running of orders.
* Work with Training Manager to ensure associates are cross trained and have the right
skills to meet plan requirements.
* Develop and adhere to the production plan requirements.
* To proactively plan labour requirement to ensure cells are at capacity
* To train and develop other employees as required.
* To work in a safe manner, observing company Health and Safety and legislation.
* To conform to all published company policies and procedures.
* To carry out any other reasonable task that may be periodically requested
Experience/skills/qualifications:
Candidates from a Assembly line background would be highly advantageous
