What you’ll be doing
1. Provide technical architectural support on agreed roadmap initiatives, acting as the technical vendor expert where appropriate to guide solution design and delivery.
2. Collaborate with technical architecture colleagues to test ideas, share knowledge, and develop layered security solutions that meet complex customer requirements.
3. Evaluate and compare security solutions clearly and objectively, enabling well-informed decisions on future product launches and portfolio enhancements.
4. Work closely with propositions and portfolio teams to gain deep insight into customer needs across SME and public sector segments, ensuring solutions align with market trends and business priorities.
5. Serve as the technical knowledge lead for designated focus areas, supporting product managers with architectural insight and technical feasibility assessments.
6. Build and maintain infrastructure systems within the Security Customer Experience Centre to showcase BT’s security capabilities and enhance customer engagement.
Experience needed to be successful in the role
Technical Architecture & Solution Design
7. Expertise in enterprise architecture, security delivery/design, and building infrastructure for testing and customer presentations.
8. Skilled in mapping business requirements into functional solutions and developing complex architectures.
Security & Vendor Technology Knowledge
9. Experience with PoCs/PoVs, vendor solution analysis, and technologies such as SSE, SD-WAN (Zscaler, Palo Alto, Netskope, Cisco, Fortinet), and SaaS API integration (e.g., ServiceNow).
10. Understanding of compliance, risk, and governance considerations.
Communication & Stakeholder Engagement
11. Strong written and verbal communication skills for presenting solutions and documenting findings.
12. Ability to position architectural solutions with customers and support bids.
13. Proven capability to build relationships and influence decisions across teams.
Certifications
14. CISSP/CISSM or equivalent (or working towards).

15. Ability to work independently, investigate solutions proactively, and operate effectively in a product environment.
