Job Title: Green Fingers Sessional Worker (For Children who are Looked After) Posts (5 posts available) Salary: £13 .26 per hour (14.49% enhancement in lieu of annual leave entitlement giving a total of £15.18 per hour) Variable Hours per Week Location: Green Fingers Site, Worcester Team: Green Fingers - Anchor- Throughcare Permanent / Fixed Term Contract : Sessional The Role: An exciting opportunity has arisen to work within the Green Fingers project team on a sessional basis. Green Fingers is a project for Worcestershire Children who are Looked After by Foster Carers, Kinship Carers or Residential Support Workers. The Green Fingers project is based within the Anchor emotional health and well-being service. The project offers alternative curriculum support and activities that are therapeutically beneficial to children and young people. You will be based on the Green Fingers site in Worcester. The work is varied, and you will be required to deliver a variety of activities for young people such as arts, music, gardening, fishing, cooking, woodwork, outdoor education, yoga, sensory / relationship based / imaginative play, Lego therapy, forest school / bushcraft, nature, and wildlife activities etc. Previous experience of working in these or a similar setting would be advantageous. The work is sessional but can be offered on a more regular basis ranging from a minimum of 3 hours to a full day several times throughout the week, depending upon your availability. Key requirements We are looking for enthusiastic and creative individuals who have experience of working with young people in one-to-one and group settings and are able to plan and deliver activities. You will need to be able to build rapport and motivate young people. You will support the individual needs of young people, some of whom have experienced loss and trauma and may have complex, distressed and difficult behaviours, attachment difficulties and/or additional developmental needs. Proven abilities of working as a team member and using your own initiative is essential as is having an adaptable, flexible and nurturing approach. Successful candidates will make a real difference to children and young people who are Looked After and access the service on a regular basis.
