My client is a globally recognized manufacturer of commercial vehicles with over 600 employees based out of their sites across the world. Following the acquisition and reinvestment into their UK based operation, they are looking to expand quickly to deliver on existing sales commitments, but also to aid the company to aggressively attract new business.
Jaxdene Solutions are proud to have been exclusively engaged in supporting them with their planned growth.
Based in their purpose-built North Cambridgeshire home, they are in the early stages of rebuilding their Service and Repair function, as well as establishing the New Product Assembly facility ready for use, and as a consequence they need a new Commercial Vehicle Body Builder to join their experienced team.
Ideally you will have at least 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role and be qualified to at least NVQ or Apprenticeship level in an engineering discipline. You will have a broad background in a variety of fabrication, welding, mechanical and electrical fitting techniques, and be able to work unsupervised on a wide range of problems. Using your knowledge, you will build and assemble new products on site and provide retrofit and upgrade services to existing products that are returned for service.
This a highly varied role, with the successful candidate undertaking a variety of tasks
* Work on new builds and prepare them for customer collection, ensuring all PDI checks are completed.
* Assemble components and attach them to existing products
* Complete all quality control checks in line with company procedure
* Work with the Service and Repair team to determine requirements for retro fitting or repair
Knowledge of Commercial Vehicles is essential, with high expectation that the successful candidate use their experience to solve a variety of problems and challenges.
What is key is your understanding that my client is looking not just for experience, but also the drive to learn new skills, contribute to a growing businesses success, and to embrace the challenges of a niche engineering market.
In return, my client offers a very good hourly rate, with an opportunity for personal progression including a route in a supervisory role, and the chance to have your skills further enhanced through the Coded Welding route.
