Job Description
As our Environmental Sustainability Coordinator, you will support our wider business to develop and implement strategies and programmes which will help us to realise ambitions commitments around climate change and resources. As part of an exciting and dynamic team, you will play an important role in shaping and understanding the future trends and issues that will mean most to our business and the clients we serve. You will have real autonomy to help shape the approach to sustainability of DO&CO, in a culture that is supportive and puts the environment and people at the heart of everything we do. You will also be given the space to evolve your brief to meet the needs of the people you partner and to reflect the fast-moving sustainability landscape you will work in.
1. Responsible for the creation, development and implementation of environmental strategies, policies, and action plans
2. Be the pioneer on sustainable procurement for all goods and services
3. Coordinate all aspects of pollution control, waste management, recycling, environmental health, conservation, and renewable energy
4. Ensure compliance with all relevant environmental legislation
5. Represent DO&CO in all environmental issues while liaising with relevant bodies such as local authorities, public and competent bodies
6. Audit, analyse and report environmental performance to internal, external clients and regulatory bodies
7. Direct and supervise impact assessments to identify, evaluate and reduce our environmental risks and financial costs to the business
8. Promote and raise awareness across the business of the impact of emerging environmental issues
9. Implement best practice in areas of corporate, ethical, and social responsibility and address any issues arising
10. Develop and implement environmental management systems to continually improve the impact of the organisation on the environment
Qualifications
11. Demonstrable experience working in sustainability and the environment
12. Good understanding of major sustainability disclosure frameworks (such as GRI, SASB, CDP, Ecovadis)
13. ISO 14001
14. Experience in supporting projects to understand and improve environmental and social supply chain impacts
15. Self-motivation, resilience, and a positive change champion for DO & CO in a fast-paced environment that requires flexibility and adapting
16. Meticulous attention to detail and precise record keeping skills
17. Build strong relationships with colleagues, mentoring and motivating, creating a team spirit, encouraging them to be at their best
18. Ability to influence different departments to suggest, implement and track more efficient processes
19. You are a clear and engaging communicator, strong written and verbal English
20. Experience working with diverse functions and people to deliver projects on time with high quality
