To support our transition and continuous improvement we have created an Agile Centre of Excellence and are seeking an experienced programme manager to support our Agile transformation.
This role is a unique opportunity to make lasting impact on Santander UK organisation and gain strong visibility among Santander Group leadership. Adoption of agile ways of working at scale is a proven approach to accelerate delivery of change and enable business success in large organisations that rely on talent, technology and data. In this role you will drive end-to-end radical agile transformation applying and adopting best practices of the group and the industry, you will interact on daily basis with senior leaders of all Divisions and most importantly you will contribute to higher job satisfaction of hundreds of colleagues and to improved experience of millions of our customers.
Role Purpose
The programme manager will lead the review, redesign, and implementation of simplified end to end change governance within our agile transformation programme. They will ensure governance frameworks enable empowered decision making, faster delivery, and compliance with organisational and regulatory requirements.
The difference you’ll make.
* Lead an independent review, design, and simplification of our risk and control framework, the To-Be Governance Operating Model, across the Santander UK end to end change lifecycle.
* Ensure that agile organisation and ways of working, in the context of change governance, are continuously evaluated and improved
* Being a true leader with the ability to step in, build relationships and work with teams and individuals at varying stages in their Agile journey
* Support the planning, governance, and execution of the multi-phased implementation of agile practices, ensuring alignment and support of stakeholders across the organisation
* Support the migration of current organisation into the agile domains and squads and drive adoption of agile practices at all levels of the organisation
* Support the definition, and monitor the metrics, of the success of the agile implementation aligned to business strategy of the bank
What You’ll Bring.
These are the essential requirements you need to be successful in this role:
* Significant experience as a programme manager or governance lead with complex transformation programmes.
* Understanding of agile frameworks e.g. Scrum, Kanban, SAFe) and how change governance aligns to them.
* Proven track record of simplifying complex processes and driving continuous improvement.
* Strong stakeholder engagement, negotiations, and influencing skills at senior levels.
* Ability to balance agility within risk management, regulatory, and compliance requirements
* Excellent facilitation, communication and change management skills
It would also be nice for you to have.
* Enterprise or cross boarder change management experience.
* Data driven decision making
* Technical literacy, ability to engage with IT teams
* Facilitation and workshop design.
* Experience of operating model design, implementation and the domain concept.
* Demonstrated organisational skills, ability to prioritise tasks and manage time efficiently while maintaining attention to detail
* Willing to take action and enjoy working in a fast paced, dynamic environment
What Else You Need To Know.
This is a permanent role based in Unity Place – Milton Keynes.
We want our people to thrive at work and home, and also be able to deliver the best outcomes for our customers and to help each other develop. To support this, we offer site-based contracts with a hybrid working pattern and our expected level of attendance in an office is at least 12 days per month (pro-rata for part-time roles).

* We put 8% of salary into your pension, even if you don’t contribute yourself. We’ll pay in up to 12.5% of salary, if you contribute as well, and you can take some of our contribution in cash if you prefer
* 30 days’ holiday plus bank holidays, which increases to 31 days after 5yrs service, with the option to purchase up to 5 contractual days per year
