A Leading Education Recruitment Agency is working closely with a number of mainstream schools, SEMH provisions, and alternative education settings in Ealing to recruit dedicated and resilient Behaviour Mentors. These schools support pupils who experience challenges with emotional regulation, behaviour, trauma, anxiety, and social interaction, and they are seeking professionals who can provide consistent, structured, and emotionally intelligent support.
The Role
As a Behaviour Mentor in Ealing, you will work directly with pupils who struggle to manage their emotions or behaviour within a school environment. Many pupils present with SEMH needs, ADHD, Autism, attachment difficulties, or behaviour linked to adverse childhood experiences. Your role will be to provide calm, predictable support that helps pupils remain engaged in education and develop positive coping strategies.
You may support pupils on a 1:1 basis, in small intervention groups, or across a class or year group. Some placements may involve supporting pupils in withdrawal spaces, reintegrating them back into lessons following behaviour incidents, or supporting them during transitions and unstructured times.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide consistent, structured behaviour support aligned with individual behaviour plans
* Support pupils to recognise and regulate emotions
* Use de-escalation techniques and restorative approaches
* Promote positive behaviour, boundaries, and expectations
* Act as a positive role model within the school
* Support pupils’ engagement with learning and routines
* Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral teams
* Accurately record behaviour incidents and progress
* Follow safeguarding, behaviour, and inclusion policies
