Overview
The position of HGV Technician involves inspecting, servicing and repairing vehicles in a professional and safe manner. The HGV Mechanic will report to the Workshop Manager, be able to investigate and diagnose faults, report findings and perform repairs to current manufacturers’ standards. Experience with cranes, hydraulics, tipper, beavertail equipment is advantageous but not essential as training will be provided.
Working hours
* Days/Afters: Alternating shifts
* Week 1 – 07:00 to 15:30
* Week 2 – 12:30 to 21:00
* 1 in 3 Saturday mornings 08:00 to 12:00 (paid as overtime)
* Night shift option: Monday to Thursday – 20:30 to 07:00
Responsibilities
* Carry out inspection and service routines and repairs on HGVs
* Test vehicles and ensure work is performed to manufacturers’ standards
* Investigate faults, report findings and carry out repairs
Qualifications
* Ideal: HGV-Mechanical qualifications such as IRTEC, NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds
* Time-served mechanics with at least five years’ experience working on HGVs will be considered

* Salary: c£42,700 – c£61,000 per annum
