Sterile Services and Decontamination Lead
Job Summary
* 12-month fixed-term contract*
* Band 8a (currently Band 6 or above required)
* Salary £55,690 - £62,682 per annum pro rata
* Full-time, across all sites: Andover, Basingstoke, Winchester
Responsible for the Sterilisation and Decontamination Services for Hampshire Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, ensuring compliance with national guidelines, statutory and regulatory requirements, and European Standards across three sites.
Provide strategic leadership, advice to managers on compliance, and act as an expert resource for all staff.
Job Responsibilities
* Lead the setting, delivery, monitoring and reporting of quality standards within Sterile Services.
* Manage decontamination services for Trust-wide operations, including endoscopy.
* Implement and manage work standards and practices accredited to BS.EN ISO 13485:2016.
* Provide advice to managers on equipment compliance and decontamination processes.
* Develop and maintain a statutory and regulatory compliance framework.
Person Specification
Essential
* Full member of IDSc.
* CSC membership.
* Internal Auditors course.
* 3 years experience in a Sterile Service management role.
* Understanding of quality system management.
* Excellent organisational, interpersonal and communication skills.
* Effective leadership and ability to work collaboratively.
* Ability to prioritise and meet deadlines.
Desirable
* Relevant Management course.
* BSG member.
* Assessors award.
* Recognised teaching certificate or willingness to obtain one.
* Quality Assurance audit experience.
* Health and safety qualification.
* Risk Management training.
* Budgetary management experience.
* Service and product costing knowledge.
