Haileybury is currently seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Laboratory Technician to support our vibrant Middle School Science Department at the Brighton campus. This part-time, ongoing role will commence in July 2025.
Working closely with the Head of Science, the Laboratory Technician will provide essential support to ensure the effective delivery of the Science program.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following duties:
* Preparation and Maintenance: Set up equipment for practical sessions, keep laboratories clean and secure, and coordinate repairs with the maintenance department.
* Inventory and Compliance: Order and manage consumables, maintain a resource inventory, and ensure chemical storage and documentation meet regulatory requirements.
* Support and Collaboration: Work closely with teaching staff to ensure timely availability of materials, trial experiments, and undertake additional duties as delegated by the Head of Department.

* Strong understanding of OHS and safety procedures in science lab and classroom environments
* Excellent time management, organisational skills, and ability to multi-task
* Well-organised, patient, enthusiastic, and relationship-oriented
* A collaborative team player with a conscientious approach to work
* Relevant qualifications in Laboratory Technology:
* Degree or Advanced Diploma with at least 1 year of experience, or
* Diploma or Certificate IV with at least 2 years of experience
* Experience working with children from culturally and/or linguistically diverse backgrounds (desirable)
