Job Overview
Assist the Head of Quality in maintaining and developing the Pharmaceutical Quality Management System (PQS) to meet licensing, regulatory, and legislative standards.
Lead environmental testing support for NWSSP Pharmacy.
Support internal audits of the PQS, including testing projects, validation activities, and deviation investigations, and coordinate non-compliance responses with relevant departments.
Provide a GMP-compliant, UKAS-accredited environmental monitoring analytical service, adhering to ISO 17025 and 9001 standards, for NHS and external clients, including microbiological and air particle testing in pharmacy aseptic suites and clean rooms across Wales and beyond.
Act as releasing officer for products under the MS Licence.
Manage health and safety within NWSSP Pharmacy, including COSHH monitoring, and maintain H&S risk assessments and systems.
Main Duties
Develop policies, procedures, and systems for medicine manufacture and quality assurance, incorporating risk management and health & safety principles.
Investigate complex deviations, ensuring corrective actions are implemented through data analysis and change control.
Conduct QA reviews of quality exceptions, product defect investigations, and risk assessments, ensuring compliance with regulatory frameworks for product release.
Provide COSHH monitoring services as needed.
Oversee daily temperature monitoring for medicine storage.
Lead and manage the team, planning workloads and ensuring delivery of microbiology services.

Person Specification
Experience
* Knowledge of GMP guidance, health and safety, and environmental monitoring principles.
* Experience with regulatory audits (MHRA, DGM (97)52).
* Practical GMP laboratory experience, including health and safety advice.
* Experience with UKAS accreditation, ISO 17025, 9001, and Maldi Tof mass spectrometry.
Qualifications
* MSC in Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Technology & Quality Assurance, Clinical Pharmaceutical Science, or relevant experience.
* Additional relevant qualifications (e.g., NEBOSH, microbiological qualifications).
Skills
* Microbiology and aseptic technique expertise.
