This rewarding position offers the chance to make a real difference by supporting young learners to overcome barriers, build confidence, and develop essential life and learning skills. In this role of SEMH T A, you will: Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils with SEMH and behavioural needs. Help establish a calm, structured, and supportive environment that promotes emotional wellbeing and positive engagement. Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral teams to deliver tailored learning and behaviour support plans. Encourage pupils to develop social skills, self-regulation, and a positive attitude toward learning. Assist in monitoring progress, recording observations, and providing feedback to staff to enhance support strategies. Requirements for the SEMH Te aching Assistant role: Previous experience supporting pupils or young people with SEMH, SEND, or behavioural needs (preferred). A calm, empathetic, and proactive approach to working with children. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
