About the Role
Firstco network engineers will support Operational Technology (OT) and critical infrastructure such as SCADA/PLC, CCTV, public address, information systems, and other subsystems. Some work may require night shifts or weekends, but primarily the role is weekday-based.
This role includes on-call responsibilities, providing remote second-line support for several networks.
Qualifications, Experience and Education Requirements
* At least 5 years’ experience with networks supporting OT/critical infrastructure.
* Experience configuring and supporting network devices at least to Cisco CCNA level (or equivalent).
* Ability to work independently, think creatively and analytically, and make quick, sound decisions.
* Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
* Practical skills and safety awareness in rail and airport environments, including risk assessments and following safety protocols.
* Must be able to obtain necessary passes for trackside, sub-surface rail locations, and secure environments (training and licenses provided).
Key Responsibilities
Supporting projects primarily in the rail and aviation sectors, including:
* System development and installation
* Testing and commissioning (onsite or offsite)
* Contributing to assurance and requirements traceability activities
The engineer will work within a project team under the guidance of a project manager and senior systems engineer.
*This role is only available to candidates with the right to work in the UK. Sponsorship is not available. Candidates should be based within a reasonable commute to West/Central London.
