Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Band 6 Respiratory Physiotherapist to join our Community Respiratory Service. This role involves delivering high-quality physiotherapy interventions to patients with long-term respiratory conditions, including pulmonary rehabilitation and airway clearance therapy. The successful candidate will work independently in community settings, providing therapeutic assessments and individualised treatment plans.
Key Responsibilities
Provide specialist respiratory physiotherapy interventions, including pulmonary rehabilitation and airway clearance therapy
Conduct therapeutic assessments for patients with long-term respiratory conditions
Deliver patient education talks for pulmonary rehab programmes under senior therapist guidance
Work independently during community visits in health centres and home settings
Collaborate with MDT, patients, carers, and external agencies
Undertake evidence-based audits and contribute to service development
Participate in research and provide supervision to junior staff and students
Key Requirements
Diploma/Degree in Physiotherapy
HCPC registration and CSP membership
NHS experience with a range of placements
Experience in pulmonary rehabilitation
Ability to work independently and in a multidisciplinary team
Strong communication skills with patients and professionals
Familiarity with respiratory physiotherapy assessment tools and outcome measures
Willingness to travel within the borough during working hours
