We’re currently recruiting a Mobile Independent Living Officer in Crewe on behalf of our social housing client, on a 3-month temporary contract, working 35 hours per week (Monday to Friday). This is amunity-based role, so a driving licence, access to your own vehicle and business insurance are essential.
This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with backgrounds in Sheltered Housing, Retirement Living, Supported Housing or Independent Living who enjoy a varied, customer‑focused role supporting customers to remain living safely and independently within their own homes.
Your new role
1. Provide a flexible Supported Living service across a defined geographical area
2. Carry out wellbeing visits, reviews and updates to support plans
3. Install, maintain and remove portable emergency alarm equipment
4. Respond to emergency alerts and service-related incidents across the patch
5. Signpost or refer customers to internal teams, family members or external agencies
6. Advocate for customers who may find it difficult to represent their own needs
7. Maintain accurate manual and electronic records
8. Act as an ambassador for the organisation and uphold safeguarding responsibilities
What you'll need to succeed
9. Experience of working in a retirement, independent, or supported living setting, carrying out the same or similar duties as above
10. A good knowledge, awareness, and understanding of social housing and safeguarding legislation, best practice, and procedures
11. Driving licence with access to own vehicle
12. Understanding of the challenges associated with ageing, disability and daily living
13. Confident lone worker with the ability to work on your own initiative
