We are recruiting a Consultant Psychiatrist to join our Older Adult Inpatient Service based at the Conquest Hospital site in Hastings.

Recruitment & Retention Package The role As Consultant Psychiatrist, you will provide senior medical leadership within the Older Adult Inpatient Service, supporting patients with severe and enduring mental illness.
You will:
Lead psychiatric assessment, diagnosis and treatment planning
Act as Responsible Clinician for inpatient service users
Work closely with multidisciplinary colleagues to deliver high-quality care
Support service development and transformation initiatives
Provide clinical leadership and specialist advice across the service
Contribute to teaching, supervision and workforce development
Help shape innovative approaches to older adult mental health care
You will work alongside an experienced multidisciplinary team including:
Occupational Therapists
Psychologists
Nurses
Allied health professionals
About the service The East Sussex Older Adult Service includes:
Two Older Adult Inpatient Wards
A Specialist Dementia Ward
Crisis Services
The service works closely with community and acute care pathways to ensure joined-up care and positive outcomes for older people and their families.
Teaching and development opportunities As a teaching Trust with strong university links, this role offers opportunities to:
Supervise trainee doctors and medical students
Become a Clinical or Educational Supervisor (subject to approval)
Participate in teaching programmes across multiple training grades

Who we're looking for
GMC registered with Specialist Registration (or within six months)
Section 12 approved and Approved Clinician status holder (or eligible)
Experienced in the assessment and treatment of severe mental illness in older adults
Passionate about high-quality inpatient care and service improvement
Committed to collaborative leadership and multidisciplinary working
