Job Title: Finance Director
Reports to: CFO
Location: Manchester Science Park (site based 4-5 days a week)
Contract Type: Permanent / Full-Time
Salary & Benefits: Competitive Salary + Benefits Package
Overall responsibility:
As Finance Director, you will play a key hands-on role in helping drive the financial strategy of the company, ensuring compliance with AIM & Euronext Growth rules, delivering accurate and timely financial reporting, and supporting strategic decision-making at the highest level.
Key areas of responsibility:
Strategic & Financial Leadership:
* Provide financial insight and analysis to support strategic and operational decision-making.
* Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning.
AIM & Euronext Compliance & Governance:
* Ensure compliance with AIM & Euronext Rules for Companies, including timely publication of regulatory announcements, interim and annual reports.
* Liaise with auditors, legal advisors, and other external stakeholders.
* Maintain robust internal controls and risk management processes.
* Support board governance, including preparation of board papers.
* Ensure that the finance systems and control processes in place are sufficient to pass the annual finance IT audit
Financial Operations & Reporting:
* Oversee all financial and management reporting, ensuring accuracy and integrity. Participate in the monthly sales scrum and monthly business review meetings.
* Manage the Group and local statutory audit processes and the relationship with external auditors.
* Ensure compliance with IFRS and all relevant tax and regulatory requirements.
* Oversee multi-country payroll.
* Lead and develop the finance team, building a high-performance culture including running monthly team meetings.
* Work collaboratively with other departments to embed financial discipline across the organisation.
* Identifying and mitigating financial risks, ensuring the company's assets are protected.
Compliance:
* Ensuring adherence to all relevant financial regulations and reporting requirements.
Strategic Input:
* Contributing to the overall business strategy, providing financial analysis and insights to support decision-making.
Stakeholder Management:
* Effectively communicating financial information to various stakeholders, including the board, investors, and other team members.
Commercial Acumen:
* Understanding the broader business landscape and how financial decisions impact the overall success of the company.
Other:
* Support and lead ad hoc projects as necessary.
* Work collaboratively with other departments to embed financial discipline across the organisation.

Qualifications, Skills and Abilities:
* A qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with significant experience in a senior financial role.
* A strong academic background in finance, accounting, or a related field.
* Proven experience as Finance Director or senior financial leadership role ideally in a publicly listed company; AIM or Euronext experience highly desirable.
* Strong knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
* Experience in leading and managing a finance team, with the ability to inspire and motivate others.
* Ability to communicate financial information clearly and concisely to both financial and non-financial audiences.
* Ability to analyse financial data, identify trends, and develop strategic recommendations.
* Understanding of the business environment and the impact of financial decisions on the overall business strategy.
* Familiarity with financial software and systems – Sage and NetSuite preferred.
* Understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities of working in a smaller business environment.
