About Us

ASONE Perform CIC, the Lead Organisation for Cornwall's Music Hub (ASONE Hub), is responsible for delivering the National Plan for Music Education (NPME) in Cornwall, as set out by the Department for Education (DfE).

Our mission is to provide aspirational, inclusive, and innovative music education for all children and young people in Cornwall, delivered through a dynamic network of partners working collaboratively to ensure broad access and lasting impact. Our vision is a Cornwall where every child and young person can access, enjoy, and progress through high-quality, inspiring music-making opportunities that reflect their lives, interests, and potential.

We work with schools, community organisations, educators and cultural partners to ensure all children and young people in Cornwall have access to a diverse and inclusive music education. We are committed to creativity, collaboration and equity, placing young peoples' voices at the heart of our work.

Our Local Plan for Music Education (LPME) reflects both national priorities and Cornwall's unique geography and needs, promoting equity, progression and creativity for all learners.

ASONE Perform CIC is confirmed as the lead organisation in Cornwall to deliver the NPME, with funding from the DfE, via Arts Council England (ACE), up to September 2027.

The Role

We are seeking a skilled and detail-focused technician with experience in traditional musical instruments (strings, woodwind, brass, percussion) to support our busy instrument warehouse during a period of transition.

* Arranging deliveries/collections with couriers and schools
* Maintaining accurate records in digital systems
* Contribute to stock management and data for statutory reporting.
* Support events by providing, setting up and collecting equipment.

Essential Skills

* Experience working with traditional musical instruments (e.g., handling, maintenance or repair knowledge).
* Ability to identify faults and coordinate repairs.
* High attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
* Ability to work effectively as part of a small and adaptable team.
* Skills and knowledge in stock management systems, Microsoft platforms, PC & Mac operating systems

Desirable

* Previous experience in an instrument workshop or music service environment.
* Music performance or teaching background.
* Instrument repair training (training can be provided).
* Safeguarding training (or willingness to undertake).
* DBS check (required before start).
* Full UK Driving Licence (desirable)

Why Join Us?

This is a key role within a creative and collaborative team that is shaping the future of music education in Cornwall. You'll have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children and educators, and to be part of a wider movement advocating for music as a vital part of learning, wellbeing and community life.

Safeguarding & IDEA Commitment:

All work must align with ASONE Hub's Safeguarding Policy and the Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly (CIOS) child protection procedures.

ASONE Hub is committed to making its offer more inclusive and enabling more young people to access high quality music making. As part of this commitment, we are requesting all commissioned providers to take steps to develop their awareness and knowledge of IDEA issues and how to make music education more accessible.
