Job Title: Production Planning Manager (BFS Supply Chain)
Location: Runcorn (On-site, with some flexibility)
Contract: 3 Months (Immediate Start, potential extension)
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Production Planning Manager to coordinate and manage the supply of BFS finished products across global markets. This is a fast-paced, high-impact role acting as the key link between site operations and the global supply chain, ensuring smooth product flow, optimised planning, and excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead production planning and scheduling to ensure timely supply of BFS products
* Act as the main contact between global supply chain and site operations
* Coordinate cross-functional teams to support manufacturing, packaging, and product release
* Develop and optimise packaging strategies and supply plans
* Manage export shipments and documentation for global customers
* Maintain and improve ERP/SAP planning data and processes
* Monitor inventory, service levels, and performance metrics
* Identify and mitigate supply chain risks
* Prepare reports and planning data for senior leadership reviews
Key Skills & Experience
* Strong experience in production planning / supply chain management
* Hands-on experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred)
* Knowledge of MRP / MRPII and lean supply chain principles
* Ability to manage complex schedules and multiple stakeholders
* Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
* Experience working in a regulated environment (e.g. FDA/pharma) is desirable
* Proven ability to influence and coordinate teams without direct authority
