We are looking for a Maintenance Technician (Electrical Services)
The Maintenance Technician (Electrical Services) is responsible for providing engineering support to the Electrical Services Group. Their role involves enabling the operation, maintenance, and enhancement of the Culham site power supply infrastructure and low voltage control systems, ensuring compliance with legislation and codes of practice.
The technician will lead small to medium plant-related work packages involving complex HV/LV electrical equipment, minor installation or modification tasks, and technical studies, including documentation preparation. Fault-finding activities on electrical plant are also part of the role, with an expectation to propose technically robust solutions. The candidate should possess the competency to supervise electrical work.
Accountabilities include:
* Leading specific work undertaken by the Electrical Services Group, ensuring safety, compliance, and effectiveness.
* Owning relevant work packages, satisfying technical criteria, and ensuring safe, cost-effective execution.
* Design, specification, procurement, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of electrical systems.
* Preparing engineering procedures, risk assessments, method statements, and local rules.
* Interpreting supplier requirements and managing related documentation within budget constraints.
* Providing assurance through calculations, analysis, and review of electrical switchgear and cabling.
* Acting as owner for plant/equipment at the subsystem level.
* Planning and scheduling maintenance activities, integrating them into the CMMS, and optimizing workflows.
* Guiding team members on CMMS use and maintenance processes.
* Integrating planned and reactive maintenance to ensure effective issue resolution.
* Advising on electrical design compliance with legislation and codes, consulting with SME as needed.
* Supporting customers in producing compliant designs and resolving issues to meet program objectives.
* Maintaining accurate PM records, ensuring data integrity and accessibility.
* Continuously improving maintenance planning processes for efficiency and compliance.
* Documenting maintenance plans and activities, generating progress reports.
Qualifications/Experience required:
* Qualified electrician with an electrical craft apprenticeship or HNC in electrical discipline.
* BS7671 18th Edition pass.
* City & Guilds 2395 or equivalent (Testing & Inspection).
* Significant industrial/commercial electrical work experience.
* Supervisory and leadership experience.
* Ability to work safely per written safe systems of work.
* Problem-solving skills.
* Ability to prioritize and manage workload effectively.
