Senior Transport Planner
You'll be joining as a Senior Transport Planner in Birmingham, where you will work on a wide mix of development and infrastructure projects that directly influence how people move around the city and beyond. What you'll be doing day to day
- Prepare Transport Notes, Transport Statements, Transport Assessments, Travel Plans and Site Access Appraisals.
- Apply your understanding of relevant local and national transport policy and guidance.
- Use Junctions software (ARCADY and PICADY) for junction capacity assessments.
- Undertake traffic signal design using LinSig.
- Produce preliminary design of accesses, junction improvements and highway schemes using AutoCAD.
- Prepare high‑quality graphics and plans using GIS packages and/or CorelDRAW.
- Gain exposure to project management, including client communication, progress reporting and contributing to fee proposals.
What you'll bring
- Experience in development‑related transport planning.
- A formal education in Civil Engineering, Geography, Transport Planning or a related discipline.
- Membership (or working towards membership) of a relevant professional body such as CIHT or ICE.
- Strong analytical skills with excellent accuracy and attention to detail.
- A high standard of work ethic, with the ability to use your initiative and work both independently and as part of a team.
