Job Description
This is a fantastic opportunity for a talented and ambitious professional Data Protection Officer (DPO) to join our friendly, committed, and highly regarded Law and Governance Service. The DPO role is a legally mandated requirement, and the post holder is critical in delivering advice with legally binding consequences to the council and schools, as well as developing and guiding the organisation's strategy for fostering a data protection culture. You’ll need clear expertise in data management, national and European data protection laws and practices, and an in-depth understanding of GDPR and DPA. It is very likely that you’ll hold one or more technical qualifications in data protection.
Prior local government experience is desirable but not essential. We are looking for an individual who is accustomed to working at pace and able to multitask. You’ll need to be an exceptional communicator who can deliver clear advice and build solid relationships with all levels of officers and members. We value our culture and building strong relationships within our service and with our stakeholders, and we expect attendance at the office at least 2 days per week.
We work collaboratively and flexibly, welcoming applications from all community members. Enfield is an Employer of Choice that develops talent, encourages innovation, and provides a supportive working environment. If you want to be part of our journey, we would love to hear from you.
