The Orchard Day Nursery is a home from home nursery and preschool set in beautiful landscaped gardens in Caversham. Established in 1989, Orchard has been delivering high quality full daycare for 36 years and has a strong local reputation for building a community and supporting working families by providing a creative curriculum in a rich and stimulating outdoors-led environment. Orchard pedagogy is eclectic and responds in the moment to the needs and interests of each child and is inspired by Reggio Emilia, Montessori and Forest School ethos among others.
We are offering an opportunity for a full time Level 3 Qualified Practitioner to join us in the role of Toddler Room Leader (2-3s). The position reports to and is supported by the Deputy Manager for under 3s. Essential requirements are a Full and Relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification, and experience and enthusiasm for this exciting age group. You will need strong knowledge of the EYFS, Child Development, Safeguarding and First Aid and excellent leadership and communication skills. Purpose Of The Post
* Ensure all children are safeguarded and their welfare and safety is promoted
* Ensure a high standard of physical, emotional, social and intellectual care for all children in their care
* Give support to other team members within their immediate room and within the wider nursery
* Work as part of a team in order to provide an enabling environment in which all individual children can play, learn and develop.
* Qualifications: Full Level 3 Early Years/Childcare qualification (or equivalent).
* Experience: Proven experience in a childcare/preschool setting, with significant time working with under 3s.
* Knowledge: Deep understanding of the EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage), child development (especially under 3s), safeguarding procedures, health & safety, and equal opportunities.
* Skills: Excellent leadership, communication (verbal/written), organization, observation, planning, problem-solving, and teamwork.
* Certifications: Current Paediatric First Aid (PFA) certificate.
* Personal Qualities: Patience, empathy, ability to stay calm under pressure, creativity, reliability, and a positive attitude.
