SEN Teaching Assistant Required in New Malden (South London) – Immediate Start
Prospero Teaching is recruiting for a Humanities Teacher to join an Ofsted “Good” Special School. The role involves providing classroom support to students in small groups and on a 1:1 basis. It is a full-time, long-term position starting immediately.
About the school:
The school is a specialist institution for pupils in years 5-11 with EHCPs, mainly with high functioning ASD, communication or complex needs. The environment is nurturing and involves collaboration with CAMHS, Speech and Language therapists, Occupational therapists, educational psychologists, Social Workers, and Mentors.
Position details:
* Role: Humanities Teacher
* Hours: 8:30 AM – 4:00 PM, Full Time, 5 days/week
* Start Date: ASAP
* Salary: Paid according to experience
* Contract: Long-term with potential to become permanent
Roles and Responsibilities:
* Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging Humanities lessons tailored to students with SEMH.
* Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment supporting social and emotional development.
* Assess and monitor student progress, providing feedback and support.
* Collaborate with colleagues, support staff, and parents to enhance learning.
Requirements:
* Proven experience teaching children with SEN, especially in SEMH settings.
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
* Current DBS check registered on the Update Service.
* Right to work in the UK.
