Senior Clinical Fellow in Acute Medicine

Senior Clinical Fellow, NHS Medical & Dental: Senior Clinical Fellow.


Overview

The senior clinical fellow will be an integral part of the acute medical workforce involved in clinical reviews of Day 2 and Day 3 patients. The post is for 12 months and will provide training in the management of common and important presentations seen in acute medical settings and insight into the management of acute ill patients. This post is suitable as preparation for a specialist training post. It is a 9am–5pm job with one long day (4 hours) per week; the work pattern is flexible.


Main duties

* Clinical reviews of Day 2/3 Medicine referred patients.
* Ensure ward tasks are carried out as planned on the post-take ward rounds by consultants.
* Clinical review of sick patients, stabilize and escalate as appropriate.
* Provide senior support to junior medical team members.
* Perform basic medical procedures as required.

Qualifications

* Full GMC Registration and Licence to Practice
* MBChB or equivalent
* MRCP Part 1
* Full MRCP
* Valid ALS


Experience

* At least 18 months UK experience in Acute Medicine or General Internal Medicine with acute medical oncalls (SHO or/and Registrar).
* Completion of core medical training or equivalent
* Experience in Acute Medicine as medical registrar
* Computer literacy
* Experience of required practical procedures
