New Business Manager - Home/Field Based - Oxford, Reading, Southampton, Swindon
Up to £48,000 depending on experience - uncapped bonus potential, company car or car allowance, and excellent company benefits
We’re seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Business Manager with a deep love for food and a strong background in the hospitality industry. In this role, you will be responsible for identifying, securing, and managing key accounts, driving sales growth, and building long-term relationships with our clients. Your ability to understand client needs, coupled with your passion for food, will be key in delivering tailored solutions that exceed expectations.
Role responsibility & Key Accountabilities:
1. To win commercial new business from customers whose food spend is between £300,000 to £2m per year, via active prospecting and managing a pipeline of opportunities.
2. To build cross-functional relationships with prospect customers so they see Brakes as their next supply partner and approach you for reviews.
3. Achieve and exceed sales and margin targets aligned with the National Account New Business budget.
4. To liaise and influence cross-functional team colleagues to deliver high-quality tender submissions within guidelines.
5. To work with the new business implementation team to launch new wins.
6. To collaborate with the UK group to identify joint opportunities for new customers.
7. To contribute proactively to the National Account team by supporting business development and strategic initiatives.

Required skills and competencies:
* Proven experience in new business development or national accounts, with success in multiple sectors and tender management.
* Excellent customer relationship and rapport-building skills.
* Strong communication skills, both internally and externally.
* Structured solution selling and negotiation expertise.
* Good commercial acumen and understanding of profit levers.
* Knowledge of Brakes and the Hospitality/Catering marketplace.
* High energy, capable of performing under pressure and meeting deadlines.
* Proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel for presentations and tenders.
