Our client, an award-winning Pensions Consultancy, has a unique opportunity for a Qualified Actuary to join their team in a consultative role at their central office in Edinburgh. The company has recently expanded, secured new business, and taken on new projects.
This is a diverse role, focusing on technical aspects as well as relationship building with key decision-makers, account management to deliver client service, proactive business development, and mentoring less experienced team members. The role also involves preparing technical papers for internal and external publications and developing new propositions and services. Additionally, there is an opportunity to be proactive in marketing and new business activities for the firm.
A prerequisite for this role is to be a Fellow member of the Institute or Faculty of Actuaries (or possess equivalent actuarial qualifications).
As a Consulting Actuary, you should have a solid technical pensions background, including integrated investment and actuarial advice and valuations within the private and/or public sectors. Experience with DB schemes or bulk transfers, along with an understanding of employee benefits issues and appropriate actions, would be advantageous.
The ideal candidate is highly client-focused, a confident communicator, and commercially minded. They should be passionate, self-motivated, enthusiastic, and enjoy leading teams with strong consulting skills and innovative approaches.
