Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and highly organised Band 3 Support Medical Secretary to work 37.5 hours per week, working at Brian Hore Unit in West Didsbury.

We are seeking to recruit a Support Medical Secretary with a can-do attitude who enjoys working in a small team and demonstrates a commitment to delivering high-quality secretarial and administrative support in an efficient and timely manner.

Main duties of the job

1. Undertake audiotyping and clerical duties for your consultants, including minute taking as required, clinical letters, reports, discharge correspondence, and clinical activity data inputting.
2. Provide first point of contact for written and telephone enquiries on behalf of your consultant, using judgement to establish validity and priority of the contact.
3. Deal with any admission enquiries using judgement and observing patient confidentiality at all times.
4. The post-holder will work as part of a dynamic team supporting medical secretaries (as and when), the admin team, consultants, clinicians, and team managers in the smooth running of the South Mersey CMHT.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

* Pay Enhancements: Band Saturday (midnight to midnight) and any week day after 8pm and before 6am. All time on Sundays and Public Holidays (midnight to midnight)
* 27 days annual leave plus bank holidays rising to 29 after 5 years and 33 days after 10 years

Person specification

* Experience of working in a busy environment
* Experience with audiotyping
