As a Team Leader, your leadership and support will play a key role in delivering these outcomes every day.
Your Role as a Team Leader (Children’s Services)
You’ll support the day-to-day running of the home, leading by example to create a safe, nurturing environment where young people can develop and succeed.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the care of children aged 12–17 in a safe, homely environment
* Contribute to meeting their physical, emotional, social, and educational needs
* Build positive relationships to support personal development
* Promote independence through daily living skills
* Supervise and support team members to develop their skills and confidence
* Lead by example, ensuring high standards of care
* Mentor less experienced staff and strengthen team capability
* Advocate for the needs and best interests of young people
* Support consistent, high-quality care across the service
* Work flexibly across shifts, including days, waking nights, and sleep-ins
Requirements
Our Ideal Candidate Will Have
* Level 3 Diploma in Children’s Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
* Willingness to work towards a management qualification
* Awareness of Children’s Homes Regulations and Quality Standards
* Experience supporting or mentoring others in a team setting
* Passion for improving outcomes for young people
* Strong communication, empathy, and emotional awareness
* A calm, resilient approach in challenging situations
* A proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement
