ART TEACHER – BASINGSTOKE
Prospero Teaching are looking for an experience and passionate Art Teacher to join small, supportive Alternative Provision, based in Basingstoke.
The provision is a small, supportive Alternative Provision for Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 students. In their most recent Ofsted inspection, they were rated a ‘Good’ school and provide short-term placements for young people in the Basingstoke area who need additional behavioural, emotional or medical support.

You will be a passionate teacher to engage students in Art; not just to provide academic and exam support, but to be able to support emotionally in a therapeutic and positive way.
The students often require support to build trusting relationships with professionals and you will have high expectations and a belief that they can succeed. You will be someone who can think outside the box with creative lessons for our onsite and offsite students, as well as bring a unique element to the team.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will be:
1. Ensuring that the teaching area is organised appropriately to provide a safe, tidy, pleasant and stimulating environment.
2. Planning and delivering an appropriate curriculum based on individual needs having due regard to pupil entitlement.
3. Teaching a range of subjects at different levels across the key stages.
4. Developing and maintaining positive relationships with families/carers.

Experience, Training and Qualification
13. Qualified Teacher Status (DfE Number)
14. Subject specialism: Art
15. Calming mannerisms in challenging situations.
16. Strong behaviour management skills while creating a fun learning environment.
17. Driven to motivate the pupil and increase his participation.
18. The ability to grow individual personal development.
19. Experience supporting an individual with Behavioural Difficulties.
20. Willing to complete Safeguarding online training.

22. Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
