SEN Teaching Assistant (SEMH Specialist)
Salary: £90 - £110 per day (PAYE – no umbrella companies)
Contract: Full-time, Long-Term
Start Date: Immediate, as soon as possible

We’re looking for a calm, caring, and confident SEN Teaching Assistant with experience supporting pupils with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. You’ll be joining a welcoming specialist school where every day brings new challenges, big smiles, and plenty of progress.
If you know how to de-escalate tricky moments, build trust, and help children feel seen and supported, this role’s for you.
What you’ll be doing:
1. Providing 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with SEMH needs
2. Helping children manage emotions, focus on learning, and build confidence
3. Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, and therapists to create calm, consistent routines
4. Using trauma-informed and restorative approaches to guide behaviour and wellbeing
What we’re looking for:
5. Experience in SEMH, PRU, or specialist settings
6. A patient, resilient attitude and genuine care for children’s progress
7. A good sense of humour (it helps!) and the ability to stay calm under pressure
8. Thrive training or willingness to complete it (we offer it for free!)
