* Salary: £40,777 per annum (pro rata for part time)

* Contract: Fixed Term or Secondment for 12 months

Your role and responsibilities

IWS North is part of the Contact and Assessment Service - the front door to Adult Social Care in Suffolk. This busy, fast-paced team receives new referrals and works with individuals on a short-term basis, offering both preventative support and crisis intervention.

As a Senior Occupational Therapist, you will:

* Hold a varied caseload, including both urgent and non-urgent work.
* Support the team's OT triage and social care triage processes.
* Work alongside and support Trusted Assessors, modelling excellent OT practice.
* Collaborate closely with locality colleagues to manage and assess risk.
* Contribute to team development, service improvement, and day-to-day coordination.

The team

The IWS (Independence and Wellbeing Service) is the front door Social Work team, working alongside Customer First and other teams in the Contact and Assessment service to offer robust advice, information, equipment, digital care aids at the earliest point of an individual's journey into Adult Social Care. There are three IWS teams in Adult Social Care, located in Waveney, West Suffolk and Ipswich. The teams comprise of Social Workers, Occupational Therapists and Independence and Wellbeing practitioners.

IWS work involves, but is not limited to:

* Arranging reablement services.
* Undertaking short term assessments.
* Occupational Therapy assessments.
* Mental capacity assessments.
* Home visits where appropriate.
* Commissioning services.
* Reviewing support.
