Main Purpose of Position
To assist the CE’s and supervise, oversee weekly programme broadcasts to ensure high-quality productions that comply with the SABC’s mandate for the Education Genre.
Key Accountabilities
1. Ensure completion and accuracy of business plan paperwork and administration.
2. Ensure completion and accurate administration of all contracts and agreements prior to broadcast.
3. Monitor overall exposure received by sponsors.
4. Receive administrative paperwork prior to broadcast and distribute to relevant parties.
5. Support continual analysis and evaluation of current business to grow and maximise sponsorship.
6. Stay informed about upcoming programmes and schedule changes.
7. Keep abreast of new and innovative technology in programme execution.
8. Evaluate proposals and preview programmes prior to transmission in line with channel vision, mission, and image.
9. Monitor programme routes on schedule and communicate changes.
10. Visit studio and locations as needed.
11. Facilitate pitching sessions for short-listed producers.
12. Assist in reviewing slots/programmes, scheduling audits, and drawing up briefs.
13. Assist with budget evaluation and negotiations.
14. Provide effective follow-up and after-sales service to clients via various communication channels.
15. Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure proper On-Air exposure execution.
Requirements
1. National Diploma in Content Disciplines, Television Production, Media Studies, or related qualification (NQF 6).
2. Two years of television production and/or broadcasting experience.
3. Knowledge of the broadcasting industry.
4. Project management skills.
5. Research and analysis skills.
6. Ability to act on research findings and understand broadcast trends locally and globally.
7. Effective working relationships with clients and suppliers.
8. Good communication, motivation, and problem-solving skills.
9. Proficiency in PC applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
10. Understanding of relevant legislative frameworks and regulations.
11. Digital skills are an advantage.
