About this role We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed Learning Lead for the Explore Pathway to join our team at Wilson Stuart School. This is a leadership role focused on planning, developing, and delivering a semi-formal curriculum tailored to students with Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD). The Explore Pathway integrates physical, academic, social, and emotional needs, ensuring every student’s Personal Learning Goals (PLGs) are at the heart of teaching and learning. Key responsibilities include: Lead the Explore Pathway across the school, raising standards of attainment and achievement. Develop and implement a sequenced SLD curriculum that promotes independence and applied learning opportunities. Coordinate and manage teachers and teaching assistants within the pathway to ensure high-quality teaching. Oversee assessment processes, analyse data trends, and implement interventions to support pupil progress. Chair pathway meetings, deliver departmental training, and contribute to whole-school improvement. Liaise with parents/carers and external agencies to ensure effective support for students.
