We are looking for an HGV Maintenance Apprentice to join our busy Engineering team at our Vehicle Maintenance Unit (VMU) based at Wardpark, Cumbernauld. The opportunity: You will work within a friendly and experienced team carrying out all aspects of vehicle maintenance and repairs on a large fleet of commercial vehicles and trailers including breakdowns and recovery. Some key responsibilities include: • Support the Engineering team with preparing vehicles for MOT, service repairs and defects • Keep tools and equipment in a clean and working condition • Maintain safety standards at all times and use protective equipment provided The ideal candidate will have: • 5 x Nat 5s – Maths and Science preferable but not essential • Problem solving skills • Computer skills • The drive and passion for continual learning whilst gaining on-the- job experience Where will you study? We have partnered with local colleges to deliver the level 3 HGV Maintenance Apprenticeship standard. Depending on the college you will be expected to attend the course on a day release or block release basis.
