Job Title - Multi-Skilled Maintenance Operative
Location - Redruth with travel to our sites across Cornwall & Devon
Reports to - Head of People
Pay - £30,000 to £35,000
Hours - 40-hours a week, Monday to Friday.
Purpose
The Dash Group is a leading multi-service logistics, vehicle, fulfilment and storage business operating across multiple locations in the South-West. The Group includes Dash Express, Dash Fulfilment, Dash Drive, Dash Self-store, and DWN, supporting a wide range of commercial customers.
As our new Multi-Skilled Maintenance Operative, you will offer versatile support to ensure the upkeep, repair and maintenance of a diverse estate across five sites in Cornwall and Devon. This is a hands-on, physically demanding role requiring a proactive individual who is comfortable working independently across a wide range of maintenance tasks.
The role involves both indoor and outdoor work in all weather conditions, and no two days will be the same. You will play a crucial role in ensuring our sites remain safe, functional, and well-maintained.
Duties & Responsibilities
* You will carry out reactive and planned maintenance across a diverse range of sites, buildings and grounds including - office buildings; warehouses; retail premises; residential properties.
* Working closely with our Business Administrator you will respond to daily incoming maintenance jobs in a timely and professional manner.
* You will undertake general building repairs and maintenance tasks to a high standard.
* You will perform a range of grounds maintenance tasks including cutting grass, landscaping, block work and fencing.
* Safely use a wide range of hand tools, power tools and plant machinery.
* Complete basic carpentry, plumbing, electrical work and painting & decoration work.
* Carry out, or utilise specialist contractors to coordinate, pest control activities.
* Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with all Health & Safety regulation and policies.
* Maintain all tools and equipment in safe working order.
* This is an varied role requiring you to perform a wide range of tasks, too many to be listed here. As such, it's important for you to be prepared to carry out any and all facilities and maintenance tasks that arise.
What We're Looking For
* Proven experience in general building and maintenance work.
* Practical skills across multiple trades.
* Experience in grounds maintenance and landscaping work.
* The physical ability to carry out physically demanding tasks.
* Experienced in the safe use of hand tools, power tools and plant machinery.
* Comfortable working independently.
* A proactive and flexible approach to your work.
* Full UK driving licence with the ability to travel to our sites across Cornwall & Devon, using a company vehicle as required.
