Job Title: Nursery Chef
At Banana Moon Day Nurseries, we are seeking a skilled and passionate Nursery Chef to join our team. Your primary responsibility will be preparing and cooking nutritious meals for nursery children.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Create and implement a menu that adheres to nutritional guidelines and caters to young children's needs.
2. Prepare daily meals for up to 50 children, including breakfast, lunch, and late afternoon tea.
3. Ensure all meals are prepared and served safely and hygienically.
4. Manage kitchen operations, including menu planning, budgeting, and sourcing supplies.
5. Maintain high standards of cleanliness and food safety.
6. Engage children during cooking activities to provide hands-on food preparation experiences.
7. Collaborate with nursery staff to accommodate dietary requirements and allergies.
Requirements:
* Previous experience in a similar role, preferably within a nursery or care setting.
* Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
* Ability to plan nutritious, balanced, and appealing menus for children.
* Excellent organizational skills for efficient kitchen management.
* Creativity and flexibility to meet diverse dietary needs.
* Valid Food Hygiene Certificate (minimum Level 2).
* Enhanced DBS check.
Position Details:
This is a full-time, permanent role with flexible hours, Monday to Friday.
