Job Description

PAY AWARD PENDING.

This is a part-time, term-time post. The salary will be pro-rata based on the hours worked.

Work pattern: Monday and Tuesday 8.30am - 4.00pm with a 30-minute unpaid break, and Wednesday 8.30am - 12 noon with no break, or as agreed with the Principal ELC Officer.

West Dunbartonshire Council is seeking to recruit a Senior Practitioner for Bellsmyre Early Learning Childcare Centre to support the delivery of high-quality early learning and childcare as we move towards expanded hours.

Our aim is to provide child-centred nursery early learning and childcare that responds to the individual needs of children. The ability to work well in team situations and a flexible approach to working with children are essential.

You will be responsible for leading and developing the Centre's parental engagement initiatives and finding creative ways to involve parents and carers in the nursery's activities and support.

You will also have some leadership responsibilities in providing high-quality play experiences within the nursery setting and ensuring that high standards of education are maintained, following the curriculum, guidance documents, and West Dunbartonshire Council policies and procedures.


Requirements

This role is considered a Regulated Role with children under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2020. Membership with the PVG scheme is therefore essential. Further details can be found here.

Preferred applicants will be required to become members of the relevant PVG scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check before a formal offer is made.


Responsibilities

The employment for this position is excepted from the provisions of section 4(2) of the Rehabilitation of Offenders (Exceptions) Order 1975. Applicants must disclose all convictions, including spent convictions, as failure to do so could result in dismissal or disciplinary action.
