PTS Communications Scheduler (Non-Emergency Ambulance Controller)
Overview
Join Yorkshire Ambulance Service (YAS) as a Non‑Emergency Ambulance Controller within the Patient Transport Service (PTS) Logistics team, delivering essential transportation services to patients across Yorkshire and North Lincolnshire.
Responsibilities
* Work to agreed objectives and support the delivery of contractual KPIs.
* Use a computerised scheduling system to allocate patient transport requests to ambulance resources on the day of travel.
* Communicate on all levels, work independently or as part of a team, and exercise initiative.
Person Specification
Essential
* Experience working in a patient/customer‑focused environment.
* Understanding of performance standards and customer care.
* Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
* Excellent telephony skills.
* ICT literacy, including good keyboard skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word and Excel).
* GCSE (grades A–C) or equivalent level 2 qualification (e.g., NVQ, including English or another relevant subject).
* Ability to work to high standards of quality, meeting strict deadlines.
Desirable
* Experience with a computerised scheduling system.

Salary & Working Pattern
Band 3 – £25,760 to £27,476 per annum (pro‑rata).
Contract: Permanent (part‑time, job share).
