Main duties of the job
Are you a motivated Resident doctor interested in developing your knowledge and experience in medical education?
We are inviting applications for a Teaching Fellow role to support undergraduate medical student teaching at University Hospital Southampton.
You will have the opportunity to discuss specific interests during the interview.
100% of your time will be protected for teaching. Out-of-hours work is not required but can be negotiated. You may also include a clinical session per week or maintain skills through clinical work.

Job description
Job responsibilities
Appointments will be under local contractual terms for Trust-appointed (non-training) doctors and dentists. Successful candidates will have an educational framework similar to training grade doctors, with a designated educational supervisor. CPD is supported, with options for study leave. GMC revalidation and annual appraisals are mandatory. Salaries are linked to pay points per the national circular, with additional remuneration for extra hours, weekends, or enhanced pay.
Salary: MT03 £49,909, MT04 £61,825
GMC registration and right to work in the UK are essential. Applicants must demonstrate eligibility or already hold GMC registration.
Applicants requiring Tier 2 sponsorship should meet Home Office criteria. Interviews are scheduled for 10 June 2025. Closing date: 23 May 2025.

This role is subject to DBS checks and requires a Disclosure and Barring Service submission due to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act.
