Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role as a CADCAM Production Engineer/Machine Shop Manager, located in Northwich. This is a multi faceted role. The Production Engineer element of the role involves method specification taking a component from raw material right through to final inspection. This will involve CNC program generation for 3, 4 & 5 axis CNC milling machines as well as multi spindle-multi axis CNC lathes. Detailing of tooling packages, jig and fixture design. There will also be a requirement to create SOP's for our deburring and Inspection teams.
The role also includes technical support of machine operators, offering support and guidance on both new product integration and assisting in skill improvement initiatives.
The role also includes machine shop management ensuring that our machinists have clear objectives and are supported and directed on a daily basis.
Requirements
* Strong expertise in Production Engineering and advanced CADCAM programming (ideally Edgecam)
* An expert in both 5 axis milling and multi-axis turning
* In depth knowledge of modern cutting tool technologies
* Experience of an ISO9001 or AS9100 Quality Control System
* ERP system experience
* Excellent Communication and team management abilities
* Fully conversant with GD&T drawing requirements
* Knowledge of inspection procedures and inspection equipment
* Experience of offline programming of CNC CMM
