Digital Content and User Experience Industrial Placement 2026. This is a 12-month Year in Industry placement, commencing at the start of July 2026. The placement offers the opportunity to network with the Met Office cohort and explore career opportunities after graduation. We are looking for two Digital Content and User Experience Industrial Placements to contribute to our mission and world-changing work.
As a Digital Content and User Experience Industrial Placement, the role may be suitable for hybrid working (part-office, part-home). The location advertised is the contractual workplace, and attendance at the office once a week is expected as a minimum. This opportunity is full-time, 37 hours per week. We will strive to agree a working pattern that works for everyone.

Our Industrial Placement scheme offers ambitious undergraduates the chance to gain valuable experience alongside diverse and highly skilled experts. You’ll work on projects that matter and will make a difference. You will gain hands-on experience with our industry-leading digital teams, collaborating with designers, developers, and digital experts to shape how users interact with our digital platforms and content.
You will be part of a collaborative team that values creativity, innovation, and fresh perspectives.
Key responsibilities
 * Manage and deliver keyword research and support ad-hoc content and SEO projects.
 * Act as product specialist for the website CMS.
 * Support the development of a website content strategy and governance design.
 * Support the SEO and Digital Content Manager to design and deliver CMS and accessibility training, promoting best practice across the organisation.
 * Support Digital Product Managers in delivering value to the users of the Met Office App and Website.
 * Support the User Experience Manager in gaining insights from users to feed development.
Essential criteria, skills and experience
 * Is studying for an undergraduate degree with a significant marketing or digital marketing focus.
 * Demonstrates interest in digital content, user experience, and search engine optimisation (SEO).
 * Excellent written communication skills.
 * Keeps evolving with experience of proactively managing multiple projects or tasks and working well under pressure.
 * Works well in a team, building and maintaining strong working relationships.
